As we move through 2022, Intel’s current 12th Gen Core series has proven to be popular with users across multiple segments, including the entry-level, mid-range, and flagship. Much of this is thanks to the fact that Intel’s latest chips have leapfrogged AMD’s Ryzen 5000 series to become the new premium platform for performance. Not only is this down to adding support for DDR5 memory, but the new hybrid architectural design works well for keeping performance high in multithreaded workloads, and perhaps most importantly of all, Intel is being even more aggressive on pricing than it has been previously.
However, no processor will work without a motherboard, and Intel has a wide variety of chipsets and options for its 12th Gen Core family. It’s time to see what motherboards are worth buying for users looking to use Intel’s Alder Lake platform in our March 2022 Intel motherboard buyers guide.
