Xiamen unveiled as destination for 2027’s IATA AGM

It will be the third time the event has been hosted in China.
Next year’s IATA annual general meeting will be held in Xiamen, China, hosted by Xiamen Airlines.

The event will take place between 30 May and 1 June 2027, IATA announced during its current annual general meeting in Rio de Janeiro.

“China’s airlines are among the top airlines by passenger traffic in the world,” says IATA director general Willie Walsh. “Hosting the AGM in China will allow the leaders of the global aviation industry to witness first-hand the impressive development of the China market.”

It will be the third time the IATA AGM has been held in China. Previous events have taken place in Shanghai in 2002 and Beijing in 2012. Next year’s event will be IATA’s 83rd AGM.

Xiamen Airlines chief executive Xie Bing says the opening of Xiang’an international airport later this year “demonstrates how Xiamen is growing its importance as a transportation and business hub”.
