Here is an approach to a web app written in PHP that doesn’t need a MySql Database but uses a pool of information via text a file that is stored on the server and can be update anytime when content want’s to be refreshed, added or deleted.

Great, let’s start with the main features of the script.

Main Features

1. The PHP script loads random quotes that will be used as posts on social media
2. Topics are divided by category
3. Each post has his own selection of suggested hashtags
4. The script also counts how many characters are used in the post so that to let the viewer know if is over the limit for Twitter or Pinterest
5. Each post also suggests an image
6. Each image is randomly loaded from the images pool for that category
7. The script also keeps a count of how many posts has the user browsed

Privacy and user info

For this script to work there is no need to login or sign-up, the site does not retain any user information. The browser counting is not functioning from the server side but merely from the user browser (meaning that if the user empties the browser cache all the session info is flushed).

The system is mobile ready, actually, it is mobile first! Yup, it actually display a lot of white space in the desktop version.

 

Advertising

Banner ads can be added both in the site modules, the body and the footer.

In the live demo version we have installed google ads in “automatic” (meaning that we’ve just added the code in the header) but the script you can download has placeholders for the purpose of adding your HTML5 or image ads of your choice.

Images

The images for this live demo require a license which we cannot provide, hence the script for download version does not include images but just placeholders. Once you install the script to your server just replace the images in the respective folder with yours. You don’t need to rename or assign a particular attribute to the images as the script will random pick any images files from the folders.

The script only accepts jpg/png and gif image files format.

You can add as many images as you like.

Image Advice

I suggest you keep the images at a low kb size as you will probably have loads of it.

Quotes

The quotes for your posts are stored in text files and the php script loads them at random from the selected folders/files.

Please note: Images and quotes are loading both at random independently one from another (see screenshot)

Please make sure you do not remove the “pipe” character in the quotes as it is the delimitation between the quote and the hashtags. (see screenshot)

You can add as many quotes as you like.

1. How to replace the demo images?
   Just replace the images on the respective folders with the one of your choice (remember that only png, jpg and gif are allowed)
2. How to add more quotes?
   You can add your post/quotes in any of the text files by either overwriting the existing ones or removing the old altogether. Remember to place the “|” pipe character between the quote and the ashtags.
3. How to place banner ads?
   Simply replace the image placeholders with the code snippets for your ad. All the pages have comments where you can insert your ads . Additionally, you can create your own code and place the code anywhere in the page. Just make sure that they will display correctly on both the desktop and the mobile version of the web page.
