Mammoth Freighters delivers first converted 777-200LR for placement with DHL

First airframe for -200LRMF modification programme handed to leasing customer Jetran.
Mammoth Freighters has delivered its first converted Boeing 777-200LR to customer Jetran, which will place the cargo twinjet with DHL.

The aircraft – registered N703DN – had appeared at the Farnborough air show in July.

Fort Worth-based Mammoth Freighters says the delivery is one of 13 destined for DHL, adding that Jetran has ordered “more than two dozen” of the converted aircraft, designated the 777-200LRMF.

Qatar Airways is among the operators set to receive the jets, which are powered by GE Aerospace GE90 engines.

“This delivery is a defining moment,” says Mammoth Freighters chief Bill Tarpley.

“Seeing this aircraft transition from its public debut—and pending entry into revenue service with DHL—demonstrates the immense momentum behind our 777 programme.”

Jetran chief Jordan Jaffe says the delivery “validates the exceptional engineering and production quality” of the 777-200LRMF project.

“This delivery is the culmination of years of joint innovation, and we look forward to watching these freighters deliver enduring value for operators worldwide,” he adds.
