Switzerland’s CREAL is hoping light field displays will revolutionize the VR/AR space. Traditional virtual reality relies on two flat images to trick your brain into seeing 3D. Light field displays use many more individual projections to create a 3D image. Their current model uses around 30 but the more the better.

The immediate medical application lets people test vision and get accurate glasses prescription with digital lenses.

TechAlter visited CREAL, check out the video below!

I visited CREAL in Switzerland to see their light field displays in AR headsets, smart glasses and a vision care system that lets you take an eye test to figure out what glasses you need.
