Israeli carrier intending to use A330s for New York service.
Israeli leisure carrier Israir has obtained US FAA clearance to open services to North America, following previous approval from its home regulator.
The airline has indicated plans to operate flights from Tel Aviv to New York.
Israir says the FAA clearance, secured on 21 August, means that “all required approvals” have been received from US and Israeli authorities.
It has not specified when it intends to open the transatlantic flights, which will be its first widebody operation.
Israir has acquired a pair of Airbus A330-200s for the services.
The company says the beginning of US flights will provide a “positive impact” to the second half of the year, after a negative first half.
Israir Group turned in a $32.5 million net loss for the first six months of the year, approaching double the interim loss of 2025.
Its revenues for the period were down by nearly 9% to $249.5 million.
Second-quarter revenues rose to $140.7 million although its net losses for the three months deepened from $10.4 million to $18.5 million.
