It’s that time of the year again! And no, I’m not talking about pumpkin spice season (but no shade if you’re into it). I’m talking about the busiest time of the year for watches in New York, with New York Watch Week coming up in full swing. That means some of the most exciting watch shows in the Big Apple are happening over that weekend, with some cool talks, brand events, and more bringing it all together.

The two big shows that we all know and love will be very much present. WatchTime magazine continues the collector-favorite event centered around high-end watchmaking, WatchTime New York, happening from October 16th through the 18th. WatchTime seems to get bigger and bigger every year, and this year they’ll be hosting a whopping 48 brands at Gotham Hall. Yes, it’s hard to imagine how more brands can somehow fit into the space, but they’ve managed to make it happen. Along with many familiar names returning, some of the new brands making their debut at WatchTime will be Ferdinand Berthoud, Kudoke, Kollokium, Daniel Roth, and more. While Friday night tickets are sold out, single-day admission is available for sale at WatchTime for both Saturday and Sunday.
To complement the high-end showcase at Gotham Hall, Windup Watch Fair (from our friends at Worn & Wound) returns also from October 16th through October 18th, at Center415 on Fifth Ave. between 37th and 38th St. The show will continue to be a delightfully overwhelming mix of everything watches and watch-adjacent, with a focus on a wide array of microbrands and over 160 names on display. For me, the first tables I’ll be making a beeline to will be Brew, Arken, and M.A.D.Editions, amongst many others, and I hope to see many of you there! Attendance is free, and no registration is needed, but as in the past, there will surely be very long lines, so be prepared.

On Thursday, October 15th, the FHH (Fondation Haute Horlogerie) returns to New York with the FHH New York Watch Summit 2026. The programming starts at 2:30pm and runs through 9pm, with most of that time filled with panel discussions revolving around many different themes. And so we have our shameless plug here that many of the Hodinkee team will be a part of those discussions. I’ll be moderating a panel at 5pm, titled “The New Perceived Value of Watches,” and hosting the discussion with Brynn Wallner of Dimepiece and my fellow colleague Mark Kauzlarich. If you have an itch to see James Stacey in the flesh (and let’s be honest, who doesnt?), he’ll be a part of the following panel at 6pm titled “The U.S. at the Top… Is It Sustainable?” The FHH Summit will be held at Neuehouse Madison Square, with free registration on the FHH website.
Last but certainly not least, Indies.NYC returns for the fourth edition of the show, happening alongside the FHH Summit on October 15th from 3pm to 9pm. I have to give lots of credit here—it’s incredible to have seen this show grow to what it is today, having been to each of the previous showings. With an obvious theme around independent watchmakers, this year they’ll host 25 independent brands (almost three times as many as they had last year). Registration is free and available through their website, and the location will be disclosed closer to the time of the event.

While this just scratches the surface of all that’s happening during this weekend, it should be plenty to get you started if you’re looking to fill up your days in the city. Oh, and one more thing—we’ll be hosting another Hodinkee Happy Hour that week, with more details to come on the date, location, and time. Stay tuned to RSVP. See you all soon!
