Three yachts, all around 85 to 90 feet, but designed with very different priorities.

In the second of our comparison videos inspired by yachts seen at the Cannes Yachting Festival, David Seal takes a closer look at the Kando 85 from AvA Yachts, the Lazzara UHV90 and the new Princess X90.

The Kando 85 is the shortest of the three, but also the widest and, at 200 GT, has the greatest volume. The Lazzara UHV90 puts a strong emphasis on interior living space, while the Princess X90 takes a very different approach with its Super Flybridge and significantly higher performance.

David compares the dimensions, gross tonnage and layouts before looking at one of the biggest differences between these yachts: how they are built and what that means for performance and range.

The steel-hulled Kando is designed as a genuine long-range explorer, carrying 25,000 litres of fuel with a quoted range of 6,000 nautical miles. The Lazzara sits somewhere between the two approaches, while the Princess can reach up to 27 knots depending on the engine package.
