Tajikistan’s Shohin brings in L-410NG for regional services

Carrier’s future fleet development will include A320neos.
Tajikistan’s Shohin Airlines has introduced a Let Aircraft Industries L-410NG, embarking on a fleet expansion beyond helicopters.

Shohin says the 19-seat turboprop is capable of operating in a “variety of conditions”, including mountainous terrain.

Tajik operator Somon Air has previously considered using the L-410.

Shohin chief executive Zafar Akhmadzoda says the aircraft’s introduction “opens a new direction” for the carrier.

“We see this aircraft as the foundation for further expanding the company’s capabilities in regional passenger transportation and developing domestic air service,” he adds.

Shohin Airlines recently ordered four Airbus A320neo twinjets to establish a solid air transport presence.
