Embraer unveils first C-390 airlifter for Uzbekistan air force

Twinjet is due for delivery to Tashkent before year-end.
Embraer has released first images of its lead of two C-390 tactical transports on order for Uzbekistan.

Released via X on 10 September, pictures show the twinjet airlifter inside a hangar already sporting its grey paint scheme and Uzbekistan air force markings. Its tail shows the aircraft’s registration as UK 39010.

Embraer earlier this year named Uzbekistan as the previously undisclosed buyer of a pair of C-390s, stating that Tashkent’s first example would be delivered before the end of this year.

Aviation analytics company Cirium records the Uzbekistan air force as currently operating four Airbus Defence & Space C295s and two Ilyushin Il-76s in the transport role, with the service having now retired the last of its aged Antonov An-12s and An-26s.

The Brazilian-built C-390’s emergence for Uzbekistan comes just over a week after the Central Asian country disclosed its recent receipt of six Chengdu J-10CEs: the first batch of the Chinese fighters from a 24-unit order.
