German city will join Paris, Nice and Milan in the all-business-class operator’s network.
All-premium transatlantic operator La Compagnie will add Dusseldorf in Germany to its network when it takes delivery of its third Airbus A321LR aircraft next spring.
The French carrier says it will also receive an A321XLR in 2028.
La Compagnie will operate up to five flights a week between New York Newark and Dusseldorf during the summer season in 2027.
The carrier already operates all-business-class flights from Newark to Paris Orly, Nice and Milan Malpensa. It recently extended its seasonal Nice flights to year-round service.
The airline’s existing A321neos are configured with 76 lie-flat seats in a 2-2 layout.
“Dusseldorf represents a natural next chapter in La Compagnie’s development,” the airline’s chief executive, Christian Vernet, said on 7 September.
“At the heart of one of Europe’s most dynamic economic regions, with strong international businesses and long-standing ties to the United States, North Rhine-Westphalia is well-suited to our unique all-business-class model.”
La Compagnie will be the only scheduled carrier to operate nonstop service between New York and Dusseldorf.
