Services from Santiago in northwest Spain to eight European cities are scheduled to begin in early December.
Spanish start-up Fly2Galicia plans to launch low-cost flights from Santiago in northwest Spain to eight European destinations in December using an Airbus A320 chartered from Romania’s Flyyo.
The flights are being marketed by Santiago-based Aviation & Mobility Services Group under the Fly2Galicia brand, but will be operated by Flyyo on a full charter basis. Flyyo is a charter and ACMI operator based in Bucharest.
“We confirm that we will co-operate with Fly2Galicia on a full charter basis, with all flights operated under our own callsigns,” Flyyo head of commercial Valentinas Jankelaitis tells FlightGlobal.
Flyyo will provide cockpit and purser crew, with the remaining cabin crew coming from Fly2Galicia, adds Jankelaitis. The aircraft will feature Flyyo’s livery at the beginning, but the plan is to switch to Fly2Galicia branding at a later stage.
Fly2Galicia’s website and social media posts indicate that it will sell flights from Santiago to domestic destinations Alicante, Granada and Zaragoza, plus Brussels, Milan, Munich, Prague and Venice. Services are due to begin in early December.
FlightGlobal has approached Fly2Galicia for comment.
